Yes, I know I am slacker when it comes to my blog. I do apologize for that. In my defense, I got caught up with NaNo and finishing Damaged. Speaking of Damaged, I have finished my novel. WOOHOO!!! I am working on my first revisions as we speak. YAY!
What is Damaged all about?

Damaged is about young, athletic girl who has experienced great hardship in the game of love. Her ex boyfriend did the unthinkable. With this, he has traumatized her in the love department. She vowed to stay away from all arrogant male, athletes. In her eyes, they are all the same.
Until she meets Blake. Miranda is instantly attracted to him. So much she cannot stand it. She has no idea that Blake is what she wants and she tries her hardest to deny the fact.
Through out the novel, the two of them have many ups and downs, mostly due to Miranda being a pain. Do not get me wrong, Blake contributes to some of their issues.
This isn't your typical love story of helpless woman meeting a billionaire or pro athlete and then changing their ways.
This about a man and woman who are attracted to one another but screw up multiple opportunities of them getting together. This story will make you laugh, feel the pain, and shake your head numerous times.

Just an FYI, I should tell you this story is set around the slow pitch softball community!! =)

I am sitting in my hotel room in Phoenix. This lovely work trip has been amazing. However, I miss my kiddos like crazy. I miss the hubby too. Unfortunately, I have not gotten much writing done while I am here. I have thought about scenes but just haven't had the time to write. So here I am with a few hours to kill before my family picks me. What am I going to do, I am going to write. I need to finish "Damaged" before November. 50,000 word in one month project is approaching.

Progress is a happening

Seriously this whole blogging thing is new to me. I am trying to write every day but have had a major hiccup this week. I got a freaking cold. I was totally laid up on Friday. Left work and slept the entire day away. Saturday was the Husker game (UGH still sad by the loss). I did write a little last night but was completely exhausted from this cold. So today is a new day. I have my coffee and laptop ready to go while my daughters watch some morning cartoons. My novel is about 3/4 of the way finished. I love this story. Miranda and Blake are an amazing couple. He hasn't expressed his love for her just yet but he practically shows her every day. She finally tells him about her past. He doesn't say anything but just hold her tight. How many guys do you know will embrace a tough girl in need? Not many. Once I finish the novel, snippets will be posted. I know I have a lot of proofing that needs to be completed.

Networking aka meeting new peeps / Update on my novel

I have joined a fantastic, supporting group of female writers. It is amazing. I am so grateful for stumbling upon this Facebook page. I have already talked with some amazing writers. I have ran ideas by them and input has been great. =) It just makes me so thrilled knowing that there are others like me. Aspiring to become the best writer they can be. Believe it or not, the majority of them have full time jobs, are mothers and writers who have been published. It gives me great hope that I can make this happen for myself and my family.

Next, my novel is back to flowing so nicely. I love this realistic love story. I am working up to the chapter where my lead female character and the lead male character express their feelings for each other. Yes, I am giddy about this.

What is my novel about you might ask?
Disclosure here: My novel is not your typical fantasy of some awkward chick who meets a billionaire who is secretly a freak in the sack. Not even close. My novels are about love. Yeah, my female characters might have little awkwardness to themselves but who doesn't. They are strong, independent woman with a messed up past who stumble upon love where they least expect it.

How is that different?
Well, you are going to have to read about it when it comes out. My characters are girls you can actually relate with. Have feelings just like them! Oh my goodness, their friends probably remind you of your own friends. My male characters are men you would actually meet through a friend, at sports event or at a party. They are just regular guys who you will fall in love with.

Well, I am done rambling for the night. I need to get back to my novel. =)

Peace out,
Krissie

Writer's Block

Oh the horror!!! Is this even possible? I cannot believe I am experiencing writer's block. My novel was flowing so nicely. I have been laughing and smiling during the entire novel and then freaking BLANK. I even have an outline and I just can't get past Chapter 13. I do not want to bore my audience (when I get an audience) with this chapter. I need to brainstorm and write something witty for the dead space in this chapter. ARGH. THINK KRIS THINK!!!!

On the plus side of my lovely writer's block, I have finally established how I am writing the series. I even bought a journal to write down my ideas. YIPPIE!!!

It is official...I am Blogger.

I can't believe I made the leap and started blogging. This is crazy! The reason I started this blog, is to promote my writing. I have a been a writer since I was a teenager (so very long ago). However, I took a break to complete my bachelors degree, my dietetic internship and then my master's degree. Before starting on my current novel, I have two incomplete novels that need to be finished. It is so crazy to read my ideas from ten to almost twenty years ago. My first novel needs a lot of work. I started writing it when I was 17. My second novel, well it needs work but not as much. My current novel, I am so in love with my characters. I laugh every time I read the chapters I have completed. You may ask what it is about? Well, it is a love story... a screwed up love story. Not your "50 shades of fucked up" story though. Through my blogging, I will give snip-its of my novel.
All I ask, is to be patient with me. I am so new to this.
